Following Google, Ask.com to include video clips and other multimedia items in some search results

In a notable shift in web-search technology, Ask.com is unveiling a three-panel interface that can contain links to video clips, news, blog entries, and other forms of multimedia on its main search results page. The move follows Google's announcement late last month that it would combine video clips, news, and book results from its vast database on its own main results page. Both developments aim to make internet searches easier and more productive for students, researchers, and other web users.
