Teachers getting digital, online learning experiences | WCTI12.com

"Technology plays a huge role in our lives, not just socially but in the classrooms, too" says Daisha Jones, Reporter at WCTI and Jason Boyd, Digital Media Manager, WCTI.

The sessions vary from STEM to robotics and even virtual reality. The goal is to give educators the tools to keep the students in their classrooms engaged.

Teachers are seeing more and more programs being offered to help them implement more technology and digital strategies into the classroom. An official with the Professional Learning Coordinator for Digital Teaching and Learning at the N.C. Department of Public Instruction said "digital competency" is a new requirement for teachers. In order to get their license, they must complete a minimum amount of continuing education units, which includes the incorporation of tech in classrooms.
