I hope you will take advantage of this opportunities to improve your webinar skills and knowledge below.

Date: Thursday, August 14, 2014
Time: 10:00AM Pacific / 1:00PM Eastern (60-Minute Session)
Speaker:
Chris Osborn, Vice President of Marketing, BizLibrary

Session Description
What are your employees learning today? Or maybe a better question might be, are your employees learning today? If you aren't certain of the answer to either question, or the answer to either question is negative, you might have a problem. And the problem might not be your employees, either.

The work world changed. It's changed a lot, but sadly our approach to most employee learning challenges haven't changed very much in a generation. Most employee learning strategies focus on the methods of delivery such as how many classroom sessions will be delivered or how many online courses everybody might take. The objectives of nearly all current learning strategies is to either improve current skills or teach employees to solve known problems. The problem with this traditional approach is that it completely misses the current realities of our work, economic and personal environments.

Think about important and prominent companies like Google or Facebook. These companies did not even exist 10 years ago. Jobs in the digital marketing space, big data, iOS development, Android development did not exist even 5 years ago. How can traditional approaches to learning strategies prepare employees, leaders and organizations for a world where this is the reality? Will being able to improve current, know skills and being able to solve know problems prepare employees to learn how to do jobs that do not exist today?
In March, we talked about a next generation of learning content strategies. Now we'll go deeper into that concept of a next generation of learning by exploring a new look at the very foundation of learning strategies more broadly. An entirely new generation of learning strategies is required that go beyond just a new way of thinking about content. In this webinar, we'll explore what a next generation of learning strategies might include, how to develop such a strategy for your organization and how you can begin taking action right away to build an effective employee learning program that will prepare employees to acquire the learning skills needed to learn how to perform effectively in jobs that might not exist today.
