The first, “The Science and Philosophy of Meditation and Enlightenment,” will take place on April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Nelly Goletti Theatre. The lecture will focus on Wright’s most recent book, “Why Buddhism Is True.”

On April 20, the second lecture will be given at 11 a.m. in the Fusco Recital Hall. That lecture’s topic will be “Cognitive Empathy and Human Conflict: Saving the World with One Not-So-Simple Trick.” It will explore insights psychology can bring to bear on international relations and foreign policy.

Wright’s previous book, “The Evolution of God,” was a New York Times bestseller and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. In 2009, Wright was named by Foreign Policy magazine as one of the top 100 global thinkers.
