The Raspberry Pi computer goes on general sale
Dr Eben Upton of the Raspberry Pi Foundation shows Rory Cellan-Jones how the computer works.
The Raspberry Pi is a bare-bones machine, about the size of a credit card. It is sold without a case, keyboard, mouse or monitor, but it can be hooked up to any existing equipment a training department has. The Pi has an Ethernet port, so it can be hooked up to a high speed Internet connection. The machine is designed to run Linux, the open source operating system.
