The class, offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Casper College will be taught by Dan Cooper on Thursday, June 29 and July 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. According to Cooper, class discussions will focus on whether it is possible to have prosperity without growth and what social and economic changes are required to build a sustainable economy. A growth-based economy will become unstable when it reaches environmental, population, or productivity limits, he said.

OLLI is a program created for adults, age 50-and-up, who wish to continue learning and exploring for the sheer joy of it. Supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation, OLLI is a learning community offering several short courses, field trips and lectures of particular interest to adult learners who are interested in taking short-term, non-credit classes. No college background is needed. Activities take place on the Casper College campus as well as offsite in other community locations.
