The school's 240 year 7 students began using Apple's iPad in classes when school returned last week.

Mr Phillips said students would be able to access the internet, electronic versions of their textbooks and iPad applications that complemented their studies.
"We talk about 21st century learning and now is the time to embrace the real power of learning through technology. I think it's important for students to have access to technology when, and where, they need it."
