E-Learning and career moves - How to manage your career with online qualifications

Today I have Gizmo an Australian company as guest blogger. Please be sure to check out this unique guest post. Guest posts are always welcome, please contact me.

There’s one inescapable fact about the New Economy – the more qualifications you have, and the easier they are to get, the simpler career moves can be. Most people at some time or other find that they need certifications, quick courses or even just a basic knowledge of career related skills. A course in computer repairs, for example, can be a personal asset, a portable skill, and just plain useful.

Online qualifications
The biggest education boom in human history is now underway. Online access to education qualifications is generating an unprecedented explosion around the world and a huge demand for skills training. Anybody, of any age, in any career or profession, can obtain skills at any level easily.

Online qualifications are definitely a major asset in the employment market at the moment. Interestingly, this phenomenon is also meeting a rising demand for skills, particularly in businesses which have taken up multitasking.

Online qualifications also provide a way of making up gaps in education and filling out skill sets which would otherwise be inadequate when applying for some jobs. It's quite easy to get online qualifications if you understand how they operate and know how to get the information you need.

Finding what you need in online qualifications
There are literally thousands of colleges, all offering varying levels of qualification. Some colleges offer a community college level qualifications, others offer degrees, others offer vocational training. Of course, just to complicate things further, they’re all under the same basic search headings.

Fortunately for consumers, there's a way round this situation. The best way to find the course you need is to set a qualification objective, and work your way backwards finding out the pre-requisite qualifications to achieve this objective.

The advantage of this method is that you will find the colleges offering qualifications you want simply by following the trail of qualifications. When you find a college offering your objective level of qualification, get in direct contact with the college and ask about pre-requisite requirements. The colleges can give you a map of everything you need and most importantly they can also give you some useful advice about how to get these qualifications.

Career moves and qualifications
When looking at a career move, look at the specific qualification requirements of positions related to your career move. You'll find a series of career tracks which will also help clarify how to get to your career objective. There may be preliminary career moves involved, and there may be also other qualifications and levels of experience like internships, which must be taken into account in your career move planning.

It is also possible to find a large number of very useful short courses, skills training and even advanced courses online, like computer support and other valuable all-round skills. These courses can be done in relatively short periods of time, and are often very valuable competitive edges when going for jobs.

Important: When looking at online courses always make sure that these courses are properly accredited by education authorities. Only accredited courses are effective professional qualifications.
