Graduation from Brevard's Adult Learning Program offers chance for something more | Florida Today
Eric Rogers, education watchdog reporter for FLORIDA TODAY notes, When she was a teenager, Tamela Durbin fell in with the wrong crowd and dropped out of school.
Now 33, the Titusville mother-of-three graduated with her
GED diploma Wednesday night, alongside 80 or so other students at the
Clearlake Education Center in Cocoa.
It was past time, she said.
"I'm tired of waiting and putting it off," said Durbin, a
certified nursing assistant. "I'm trying to go somewhere in life. I
want to be a (registered nurse)."
Now she can, thanks to the Adult and Community Education Program run by the Brevard County School District...
