The University of Copenhagen leaps 45 places in the 2008 Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings


With more than 37,000 students and 7,000 staff, the University of Copenhagen is the largest institution of research and education in Denmark.


On 1 January 2007, the University merged with The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University and The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The two universities are now faculties at the University of Copenhagen.
The THES/QS ranking of 2008 places University of Copenhagen as number 48 in the world.

Aarhus Universitet or the University of Aarhus is the second largest University in Denmark
Ranking number 81 in the 2008 THE-QS World University Rankings.

The top US and UK universities continue to dominate - Harvard University remains number one, with Yale moving ahead of Cambridge into the second spot. Oxford drops to fourth, while Princeton drops out of the top ten, replaced by the only new entrant, Columbia.
