Students are required to master the theory behind color, composition and movement on a virtual classroom. Only after they are allowed in campus to get their hands on the hi-tech equipment for which AFTRS is recognized and often the reason why they choose to go there.
Moodlerooms, the Learning Management System, was chosen for the tools to allow collaboration between students, where different roles and responsibilities are defined. Say production, audio mixing and video editing. Giving people full autonomy on a team task seems to have kept creativity alive.
