The Make My Course initiative is an industry-first and is supported by LinkedIn, Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), The Australian Institute of Training and Development (AITD) and National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) and will be created and delivered by e3Learning.

Open to aged care managers and business leaders across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, the initiative will allow entries for course ideas with the chance to see the idea become a reality.

The competition is aimed directly at aged care managers who have been frustrated when a specific online course is unavailable for their organisation’s employees – or are wondering how an emerging compliance required for staff training can be addressed.

With popularity of online courses increasing, particularly within the aged care sector, for their cost and efficiency advantages, General Manager of e3Learning, Vicky Bartolacci says the biggest advantage to digital learning is its effectiveness.

“Trainers and managers in aged care can track the progress of employees – from how long they studied the course to testing the skills and knowledge they’ve gained from it,” she explains.

“The challenge is finding the right course to deliver the right skills.”

The course idea will be judged by a panel including Ramak Salamat, Director of Sales Solutions ANZ for LinkedIn; Naomi Dinnen, CEO of AITD; Rosemary Guyatt, HR Manager of AHRI; and Nolen Smith, Managing Director APAC for Kineo, a business of the City and Guilds Group.
