Someone You Should Know: Chicago Math And Science Academy Robotics

"Twelve thousand students from 38 countries will be competing in a robotics world championship. The team representing Chicago is from the Chicago Math and Science Academy. "according to CBS Local

CBS 2’s Harry Porterfield says the team members are all someone you should know.

The CMSA’s robotics program began in 2012. Even in that first year, students began winning awards for their designs.

FIRST Robotics Competition 2015 


As a member of the Robo Titans, Roshaan Siddiqui has helped create the Atlas 7006. The object of the competition is to use the robot to gather up as many balls as possible and place them in tubes of varying sizes.

He’s thrilled at the upcoming competition because it could help his college prospects.
“I want to be a mechanical engineer,” Siddiqui says.

The FIRST Robotics Competition will be held in St. Louis Wednesday through Saturday.
