Chordtunes - Redefining learning to play music for stringed instruments

John Baxter, the publisher of Mandozine and UkeFarm, has launched a new Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the development of Chordtunes, an iPad app for creating chord sheets for multiple instruments.

Chordtunes Indiegogo Project

There are an immense number of amatuer musicians at all levels, playing a wide range of stringed instruments. The current ability to easily create chord sheets for a variety of instrument tunings is limited. Sheet music often displays chords by name but not by diagram, or the sheet music may only include guitar diagrams. Chordtunes creates diagrams for guitar, ukulele, and mandolin, eliminating the need to look up chords the player may be unfamiliar with. Chordtunes can be used at music lessons, capture chords for a tune a friend shares, create personal compositions, and share chord sheets with other users.

Chordtunes is a text editor for creating chord sheets. Entering chords is as easy as typing. A custom input keyboard provides an easy way to select and enter the chords. There is no need to worry about which instrument to select. A chord sheet will display for any instrument the app supports, automatically converting the chord sheet to the instrument tuning.
