Cyndi L. Fenske, a Library Board Member inform, It's time to treasure the last month of the
year! Sometimes winter gets a bad reputation (and for sure it has earned
it), but there are some good things about it, too.
Skiing and
snowshoeing, white-coated balsam, pine-scented homes and twinkle light
glow. More time indoors can also mean more time reading! Picture
yourself wrapped up snug in a fuzzy blanket, wool socks warming your
toes, a hot cup of coffee or tea or cocoa steaming beside you as you
become acquainted with new characters, revisit old friends or take on
non-fiction ideas to ponder. The Bemidji Public Library has many
materials waiting to be consumed and a few activities and programs for
your delight.
The library offers three book clubs for different ages. The Monthly Book
Discussion for adults takes place on Monday, Dec. 10 at noon. For
information on December's selection please ask a library staff member.
On Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 3:30 p.m., the Kid's Book Club meets to discuss
"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis, (which is one of
my favorite novels, and always reminds me of winter). Books for this
discussion can be checked out at the Library Circulation desk. Later on,
the following Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 5:30 p.m., the YA Book Club will be
discussing Louisa May Alcott's classic novel "Little Women."...
On Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m., Robert the Magician returns for
"Frosty's Birthday Party" magic show! This program is in collaboration
with other New Year's Eve events going on that day downtown.
